The very short story is that I lent him $ 250,000. It’s a long story of why I actually did something so seemingly ridiculous, long, and it has additional men and women involved that I don’t want to add to pretty much any overall drama.
The rest are silent because they are embarrassed that they were deceived, or want to avoid drama. They would rather leave all trials behind them, hoping in the back of the head that one day they will be fully reimbursed.
PokerNews Commentary: Talking about high stakes thieves
From that point on, he dodged me for months. He didn’t have this Tuesday and I had to leave to go on a family trip. I gave him my cable referrals as well as the names of other players still in Vegas to whom he can transfer funds. He acted very seriously, interested in getting all the necessary information about the cable. I knew I was in trouble after Samuel Touil (also known as Sammy) tried two intervals this semester. The very first was your typical short pot loss trick (investing less money instead of what he owes and expecting no one to notice). If you have not found something bad in someone, this does not mean that you can trust him. Just because someone looks nice and irritable doesn’t mean you can trust them. Hustlers are usually magical.
There a lot of stories like mine
Keep in mind that the burglar’s ploy allows them to keep borrowing money from other people. I played an important game in ARIA last week using very successful players. At some point in the night, the conversation turned to a debtor, more precisely, about people who owe money. A couple of these stories were roughly about people who went through hard times and were, therefore, unable to repay the loan, however, most of these stories were about outright robbers – those who, from the beginning, intended to cheat, cheat, or steal.
All the stories I have learned from friends belong to them, but I will most likely tell one of my recent stories. I hope others follow suit. The concern is how many of these people are in the market, and how they play with one of us, and no one knows who they are. The several names mentioned were people I had heard of but never heard of anything terrible. At least one was present from the ARIA poker room when we used dialogue.
They are good at it. They can be charming, seem real, and trustworthy.
On the other hand, after a push, Samuel Touil’s opponent said “phone” and turned his hand over. Samuel Touil threw his hand in the mud and furiously told the dealer and the floor that his opponent had said to fold. We laughed at this, I suppose, because we survived despite being stolen from us, but it’s painfully unfunny that all these people keep their reputations complete in order to steal or cheat.
Now I know two more players that Samuel Touil tricked. In case they (or someone else) really want to speak, I invite them, but it’s not my business to speak on their behalf. I hope that by telling this story I will not let Mr. Touil fool another poker player. I expect others to learn from my adventures and more players will speak up so the rest of the community can learn from their own. A lot of people cheat out of survival or greed, but I believe Samuel Touil cheats and steals purely for the sport. It is a reminder that wealth does not mean that someone deserves respect.
Samuel Touil plays HighStakes Live cash games in Las Vegas:
- He visited Vegas regularly last winter, playing baccarat, and from time to time I played with him.
- It seemed that he was losing much more often than winning, but at the same time he received an endless stream of extortion of money.
I found out over the weekend that Samuel Touil is playing at the Bellagio. I didn’t want to play with them, but I decided anyway that I would count on a reward.
After the semester, I was only able to get back $ 50,000. Since we all love poker and everyone involved in this game, it is no secret that this game can have its own dark stories. Phil Galfond, a respected high stakes poker player, recently highlighted one particular grim situation, and his story will be the subject of a recent PokerNews publication. Several other players have spoken on my behalf, asking Bellagio staff when there is anything they can do.
Samuel Touil had more than he should have hung me at the table. Unfortunately, however, and perhaps unsurprisingly, their hands were still tied. While I want to clarify this component of the story so as not to look innocent, it may not be the part that matters. You can see where this is heading. Samuel Touil lost money and left, telling me that I would receive my $ 250,000 the next moment. The day turned into a few weeks later because “the banks closed for Christmas.” I didn’t want to talk about it publicly or work with any drama, but more than that, I really don’t want to give Samuel Touil pride that someone else did it.
My advice to other players
Remember that the people who cheat and fix it do it for two reasons: After leaving for a short time, Samuel Touil claimed to have lost the rest of his baccarat money.
That night I decided to pressure him to repay me. In the end, he got upset and threatened to say that he had lent me 50,000 that night (on camera) and I owed him. Many people stay “outside” their thief for fear of upsetting them for fear of losing influence. Many believe that their debt could either be covered if he really could, or that they are close to settling.
In some cases, this actually works.
Often duty or just maintaining visibility in order to maintain your position. When they refused to side with him, Samuel Touil immediately tried to interest his competitors with sympathy for some of them. It didn’t work either. He refused, insisting that I find my money on Tuesday. “Don’t worry, my friend,” he went on over and over. We will need to fight this instinct, but perhaps not only in order to put pressure on those who use it, but also to identify other potential thieves they can get and get exposed, as well as to protect good people. from becoming victims. 1 weekend, the flow dried up and Samuel Touil wanted some money until his next cable arrives. This is really the area where the difficulties begin. If you’re wondering why he played in the match and didn’t warn me, believe me, I was over the top. He kept insisting that the cord would arrive next week and then he would pay me. He had money to bet on over the weekend.
A few days later, I was told that another player in the game saw Samuel Touil corner in the third period, successfully breaking my kettle. I immediately became worried about my chances of compensation. However, as I said, Samuel Touil clearly had a lot of capital. I remained optimistic because it was clear that he intended to hold on and play more money, and that the $ 250,000 was not a significant amount. Samuel Touil replied, then pretended to be embarrassed by my letter from the attorney.
The way it turned out
He explained that he “borrowed $ 50,000 and paid me $ 50,000,” and that we were honest. I told him that the conversation was controversial and said goodbye. Last week, even after receiving a letter from my lawyer, he finally told me that he wanted to talk. I predicted, cautiously optimistically waiting for him to grab. The problem is that those who intend to steal from others do not intend to return the money. They usually do their part very well and benefit from our instinct for silence. Also, I would prefer to make it very clear that I cannot tell this particular story out of empathy. I made a decision. I knew about the possible risks and will deal with the consequences.
I am convinced that many of you will think that I made a stupid decision, and as it turns out, you would be right.
